WWE Championship is a professional wrestling promotion based out of Stamford, Connecticut. Title reigns are either determined by professional wrestling matches or are awarded to a wrestler, as a result of the culmination of various scripted storylines.
Among the five current brands, 18 wrestlers hold the championships. The list includes the number of times the wrestler has held the title, the date and location of the win, and a description of the winning bout. The following is correct as of August 27, 2018.

7. Charlotte Flair – Top 7 Leading WWE Championship 2018
Charlotte Flair is an American professional wrestler, author and actress currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Charlotte Flair, where she is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion in her second reign. A second generation professional wrestler, she is the daughter of two time Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
Flair is a seven-time champion on the main roster and has held several titles overall under the WWE banner, including being a former NXT Women’s Champion, the final Divas Champion, the first and four-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion and a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion. She is the first and only wrestler to hold all four championships in WWE as well as the longest-reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion in WWE Championship 2018.
6. A.J. Styles
Allen Neal Jones, best known by the ring name A.J. Styles, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand and is the current WWE Champion in his second reign. Long regarded as one of the world’s best wrestlers, Styles has headlined numerous pay-per-view events internationally.
With his second WWE Championship victory in Manchester, England in November 2017, Styles was recognized by WWE as the first wrestler to win the title outside of North America—this reign became the longest in SmackDown history. Also that year, he was inducted into the WON Hall of Fame. WWE SummerSlam 2018 proved that AJ Styles is a future Hall of Famer and the true face of WWE, even though it means Samoa Joe will have to wait to become WWE Championship 2018 holder.
5. The Team B – Top 7 Leading WWE Championship 2018
Michael Cole is with Graves and Jonathan Coachman. Out first comes The Revival, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder. JoJo does the introductions. Out next are RAW Tag Team Champions The B Team, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.
Dallas starts off with Dawson. Dallas takes Dawson to the mat with a headlock. Dash tags in for the double team on Dallas. Dash knocks Axel off the apron. The Revival nails a Shatter Machine to Axel as he comes back out of nowhere. Dallas is selling a leg injury after a Dragon Screw leg whip. The Revival focuses on the hurt leg now. Dawson takes Dallas out and covers for three straight pin attempts. Dawson continues working on the leg and keeping Dallas down. The screen splits with a promo for tonight’s RAW Women’s Title match. Dash keeps Dallas down and tags in Dawson for more double teaming. After the match, The B Team takes the titles and celebrates as their music hits. We go to replays. The Revival looks on disappointed as The B Team celebrates. They are celebrated world wide for holding the WWE Championship 2018.
4. Cedric Alexander
Cederick Alexander Johnson (born August 16, 1989) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name Cedric Alexander. He is signed to WWE, and performs on the cruiserweight exclusive show, 205 Live. He is the reigning WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He is also known for his time in Ring of Honour from 2011 to 2018.
Alexander, best known for becoming a mainstay of the American independent scene over the past several years, has brushed elbows with some of WWE and NXT’s elite, including Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Tommaso Ciampa, among others. In the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classic, Alexander wowed the WWE Universe with his striking skill, aerial ability and heart.
The Charlotte native put in the performance of a lifetime against tournament favorite Kota Ibushi in the Second Round, earning the respect of WWE COO Triple H and exiting the tournament with fans begging to see more.
3. Seth Rollins
Colby Daniel Lopez is an American professional wrestler and actor currently signed to WWE under the ring name Seth Rollins. Rollins has headlined numerous major pay-per-view events for WWE, including WrestleMania 31. Industry veteran Sting described him as the most talented professional wrestler he has ever seen or worked with.
He performs on the Raw brand and is the current Intercontinental Champion in his second reign.
Seth Rollins managed to take a secondary championship and elevate it to the point that it became the top title on Monday Night Raw. Brock Lesnar and the Universal Championship may not be around, but Seth Rollins and the Intercontinental Championship was.
That was surely a great source of pride for Rollins, who delivered top notch performances every time he defended the belt. He not only became the top titleholder on Raw, he also became arguably the best hand in WWE.
2. Ronda Rousey
Ronda Jean Rousey is an American professional wrestler, actress, author, mixed martial artist and judoka. She is currently signed to WWE, performing on the Raw brand, where she is the current Raw Women’s Champion in her first reign.
This record-setting modern legend has blazed a trail through mixed-martial arts, beginning with a bronze medal showing in judo during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and, most notably, continuing with a record-setting tear through UFC as the first female competitor to ever sign with the company.
Given her status as the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion before that promotion was absorbed by the UFC, Rousey was named the first-ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion upon her arrival. On July 5, 2018, Rousey became the first female fighter to be inducted into UFC Hall of Fame and tohold the WWE Championship 2018.

Leati Joseph Anoaʻi is an American professional wrestler and a former professional gridiron football player. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns will get what he has been craving — another opportunity to dethrone his greatest rival Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.
After he defeated Bobby Lashley on the July 23 episode of Raw, The Big Dog earned the right to get another crack at The Beast and his Universal Title. Of course, Lesnar and Reigns’ rivalry dates all the way back to WrestleMania 31 in 2015, and the two recently collided in unforgettable contests at this year’s WrestleMania and a Steel Cage Match at The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in April.
